Like I said this is my fist time… so I’m kinda clueless. Thank you ! My whole family loved it….I didn’t have fresh ginger on hand, so I just used powdered, but your recipe is amazing. The bottom bit can be very salty. Hi Linda – sure, I haven’t tried it, but I’ve seen Mongolian Beef slow cooker recipes. It is very good; however, it is extremely rich.
I’ll be using my InstantPot. I loved the flavor but wasn’t in love with the texture of the flank steak–fall apart tender but the pieces were a bit tough, sort of like beef jerky. It definitely needs the brown sugar; all of it. I am new to the whole pressure cooking thing and this was our favorite so far! You can also try cutting the meat a little thinner next time too. You could also freeze half for an easy meal another day. Kids devoured and husband said I did something great to this meat. Yes, this works great to make ahead and freeze later! I agree on the to sweet. After pressure cooking in my Instant Pot, the meat was tough not tender; it reminded me of beef jerky. I used chuck because that’s what I had in the freezer. Then stirred the meat and sauce with tongs until the sauce thickened. When meat is in a sauce like this one, it’s okay to go ahead and not use a natural pressure release. Very good and not overdone. Have a Type 1 Diabetic son. Thanks for sharing! I like to think of myself as a good cook, can’t figure out why everyone loves it. Hope this helps. I’ve found that fresh kale is great in a pressure cooker for soups and stews. The meat was tender enough to cut with a fork. Barbara this sounds delicious but what can I substitute for 1/2 soy sauce? Last night we had the Mongolian Beef. Would natural release be used ?

I have a cook book but I’m not having any luck. I freeze it all the time. Too unctuous – needs some kind of acid, like lime juice. I’ve posted them at the end of the Beef and Broccoli recipe. Pasta can be tricky to get the timing just right so the texture is nice, but you can always adjust the taste by adding spices or fresh herbs at the end to your liking – I always spice it up with a little cayenne pepper. Maybe a tad sweet but I am sure that is because I’m more of a spicy instead of sweet food person. But switching up your side dishes can bring a refreshing change to a classic comfort food dish. The only thing I would change, is something I learned a long time ago. This recipe looks really good, and I’m planning on trying it out this evening. My husband doesn’t care for “sweet” main dishes, so I countered the sugar with a healthy swirl around of chipotle infused olive oil for a little kick. Thanks so much for this recipe! Nice tender meat. I think next time I will cut back on the soy sauce and maybe omit salting the beef.
