Shipley Nature Center is absolutely one of my favorite spots in Orange County.. Beach concessions along the path rent bicycles by the hour or day.
Walk or bike the many trails of Huntington, there are options for all fitness levels. There were no bugs on this trail which was nice because we'd just gotten eaten up on another trail in this park. Wear bug spray! About 2 miles (no pedometer). Small parking lot and a nature center located at the trail head. An easy walk on a blustery day. Nice easy scenic trail that I did with my twin brother and four Shih Tzu companions while camping in the area several years ago. Loved the jetty awesome hike great beach. On the opposite side is a salt marsh that ebbs and flows with the ocean tides filled with oysters, fish, birds and wildlife. Opened in 1974, the Shipley Nature Center is an 18-acre fenced natural area within Huntington Beach Central Park. And an amazing stretch of gorgeous beach with extremely convenient beach access and parking! We’ve saved so much money by just hiking, sight seeing, and swimming here at this beautiful park!
