The staff were very obliging and couldn't do enough when we asked for hot water and extra clotted cream. I think you should not bother to accomodate dogs as you obviously don't really want them . Private dining is also available in either of our function rooms. It only needed small pop in the mouth cakes which is the normal way to present cakes for an afternoon tea. 00406990, Booking enquiries Afternoon Tea Menu. The hotel was busy - surprisingly so for a cold February weekend, but it had a real buzz going on and the bar and restaurant were pretty full. Under trained staff and a restaurant manager running round like a headless chicken, serving at tables himself.Numerous people this week were complaining about the service but nobody seems to be in charge. Moreover, the view was spoilt by the white decking of the roof of ground floor.

The decking area around the outside over looked the sea and made a great place to have an afternoon drink in the sun. The public area is very much like the Harbour Hotel at Salcombe. The food in the restaurant is excellent. Went for the full afternoon tea at the end of February.

Great time. We were advised of building works and that the balcony was out of bounds when booking, but to reach our room was like passing a war zone with wet paint, plaster, ladders and at least 6 chaps on the landing. Afternoon tea, renowned for its fresh-baked scones and locally-made clotted cream and jam, is served daily in the lounge or outside on the terrace by the pool. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, the parking was free, the refurbished rooms were nice, the food was good and the arrival of the new spar area to come looks exciting. There is a wonderful new lounge/bar/restaurant area full of light with big glazed doors and they had placed electric heaters around to warm it up. Rooms were amazing, we had a sea view and our friends had a side sea view, both rooms were so light and airy. The creme brûlée was perfectly OK and our Americanos excellent.

We had a lovely afternoon tea with good service. The next time we visit we will make sure we ask for more sandwiches and less cake. This hotel is undergoing a transformation.
