tonkotsu ramen menu

The broth didn't really have much flavor and was more on the bland side. I'm a New Yorker so I'm particularly picky with my foods so I decided to go for a Tonkotsu ramen figured you can't go wrong with a simple pork broth... it was sooo salty I felt like I was eating a bowl of salt water. Tonkotsu broth is usually fatty, but this one was more on the thinner side. I'd skip the tonkotsu ramen though, the overall quality is on par with Satsuma/Tanpopo: perfect noodles, firm slice of lean roast pork, rustic-cut slice of fish cake, egg boiled through, undeveloped broth.Three and a half stars. ALL. Yes, It Is Spicy But You Can't Stop Eating! I had to add some spice to it to make it taste better and it helped a little bit. The staff is amazingly friendly, the service is great and there is an abundant amount of seating; Weekend nights may be a bit more difficult but the family style seating helps accommodate that as well as the large bar. They have perhaps around 10 tables, so can't sit too much people. No Hot Sake here-Strike 1. This restaurant is just down from Georgetown Cupcake on the way to the C&O Canal. Me and a friend are visiting San Diego (my first time here!) Overall, I always have an amazing experience here and I will definitely be back soon! It seems like a lot of other reviewers have had/experienced awkward tip encounters too. They also brought out the extra broth in a separate bowl. Don't expect traditional ramen straight from Japan. Their decor is really nice and is dimly lit - perfect for that date night.

So this Ramen bowl embodies that, the broth was tasty but not overly salty or flavorful, and it was a good bowl of Ramen on the more simplistic side that focuses on the few ingredients it has. This place is no good. But I think my favorite part of any ramen dish is opening the soft boiled egg with my chopstick and watching the yolk ooze out. The Ramens in DC (Sakuramen, Taan, Toki, Daikaya) are all pretty salty, and heavy on the meats and toppings, it's tailored what I feel to more American tastes. Soft boiled eggs should never be $2. The gyoza was amazing as well. My friends and I ended up sitting in the patio area, but the covering was enough so that we were mostly protected from the rain. Clean bathroom down the stairs in back. I expected slices of chicken so this was a bummer. But hey I got a great instagram worthy picture out of it. The spoon is just not something you can decide to leave out when you "modernize" and "make hip" ramen. You walk up to a register and order your ramen. This one is for her.I went to Kintaro completely alone at 9:30pm on a Friday night, because that's me...lone wolf. Their buns are verrrry tasty too! Yum. A Powerful Combination of Rich Tonkotsu Broth, Charcoaled Garlic And House Blended Black Sesame Oil, Which Adds Extra Flavors And Aroma To The Dish. I definitely recommend adding that! Everything else seems delicious, though. I don't think it was pork belly, but I forgot the cut. Bad experience overall.

At night, the fire pits are on. Yum. Seriously just wow. All. Seriously! I've seen a-many sushi chefs, from the "sushi chef" in college whom was scooping up General Tso's chicken then made sushi when it was introduced at George Mason, buffet sushi places like Todai, Japanese places claiming they are Japanese but are not. Containing the three treasures of Toroniku (braised pork cheek), Cha Shu (braised pork belly in cha shu sauce) and Buta Kakuni (braised pork belly in special sauce). Hot Tonkotsu Ramen and Macha Tea are faithfully comforting here, especially during this remarkably frigid winter season. A great sign that this place was all that and more! ** Warning ** Not much elbow or leg room. We also ordered the salmon avocado roll and the rice was so hard! I chugged the rest of it and tossed the cup in their trash can.

For reference, watch Jiro Dreams of Sushi, that's how a real sushi chef makes sushi. The food was brought out in no time at all-I think we had been sitting for 5 minutes? It came with a piece of eel, and the sauce got to a piece of white fish. Hopefully, We helped you to get some information of the Tonkotsu Ramen Bar menu, price and location. The beers on tap are the best and the customer service is amazing. Very casual vibes. Located between Modern Times and Taco Stand, Underbelly has huge gravitas with its location: super modern, minimalist, flat black decor with mostly outdoor seating around a modern gas fire pit. Like incredibly, cant even focus on any other flavor but the saltiness, salty. I also had a taste of the Tonkotsu Ramen, and this may be a better choice for you pork lovers. The Sushi was so good, I had to order more. This is not a place for large group meet ups, and it probably is better for a short meal rather than a long one. Save your money for Sushi Taro or Kotobuki. Nothing fancy, which should make deciding much simpler. I don't care if ramen places are more expensive because they're modernizing and Americanizing ramen with short rib and oxtails and sorts like that, but the food needs to be up to par with the price and that just wasn't the case at Underbelly. Overall, I am not sure I'll return. The kids enjoyed it, so it's a pass. They seemed uninterested in seating the 6 of us- 4 adults and 2 children. My friend and I ordered drinks and the person who brought them just slammed it on the table, made no eye contact and just walked off. 807 likes. No bento boxes either... A little above average priced appetizers (actually very overpriced after you see the size of those), ramen for around $10 (small portion compared to other ramen places I've been, but prob one of the better "deals" at this place), $17-$18 chicken teriyaki and salmon teriyaki that looks like a microwaved plate, pricy/small portioned fish dishes...We got the following - Chicken karaage- it was around $7, and there were so few pieces.

I've been a regular customer since the opening, and there are a few solid reasons why I always go back: 1) fantastic, consistently delicious food, 2) great, warm service. Other Japanese restaurants would have it in a bento box so it would come with a variety of sides, or even just salad and miso soup. Friend and I finally came last night. They open pretty late around 12, so get there earlier so you dont have to wait! It's a tiny Japanese restaurant, there aren't many seats/tables and there was a wait when I went on a Wednesday night. But yet again, it's Georgetown where even a simple bowl of pho can be $16. My favorite is usually salmon, and the one piece in there was ok. I had to admit, I think I had pretty high expectations because one of my friends cited this place as her absolute favorite for ramen. I'll throw money their way again to try the burikama with more sushi. The egg was overcooked. Luckily, the weather has cooled some at night now, so this is a good dish for these kinds of outdoor temperatures. My daughter loves noodles, but she didn't eat more than one bite, saying it was gross. The open dining room that looks into downtown is beautiful and the ramen is delicious here. I saw on the menu there is a tonkotsu ramen, so I expected a delicious broth. I'm sure my dad thought the same. Definitely enough for multiple meals which was great. Chirashi- $20. The egg was beautiful, not quite seasoned, but not plainly hard boiled either. Sorry not a huge fan. The vibe and ambiance of UB's newest location was very cool! So how did it stack up? Would I recommend? She told us to meet at this location because it was less crowded than the Downtown San Diego one.I had a hard time finding parking--I must have circled around the area three times--but I finally found a stall and didn't have to walk too far. They do offer spoons here but get ready for a large wooden spoon lol.

Awkward. The OG tonkotsu comes with Sears's pork belly, a soft boil egg with a creamy, sweet center, bean sprouts and green onion.
