Both Sissy Spacek and Chloe Grace Moretz are fantastic in different ways and Bettis easily joins them, offering another shade (possibly the most 'Carrie' like appearance I initially envisioned) and is the undoubted highlight of this fairly drab version.
Tina sees it flow down the drain, and notifies all the other girls. So I was already not on this movie's side... there's no tragedy if there's nowhere for her character to go. I’m a weirdo.
This TV-movie was used as a standalone pilot for a possible spin-off TV-series but it is almost impossible to imagine how such a concept would work in a longer form.
Movie remakes that should never have been or shouldn't be made.

And the ending explains why all that extra fluff was necessary... because someone thought the adventures of Carrie and Sue would make a wonderful T.V.
It’s more faithful to the source material, sure, but it’s not a patch on the intense and visceral filmmaking of De Palma or even Peirce’s takes, Perfect actress for Carrie, she has this vulnerable scared energy like shes gonna cry/die/orgasm in every frame, and shes all ratty and messy and fluffy, big lesbo vibes here too so that's fun, but mostly kinda flat and meh due to being made for TV and so damn long, tho it has some style with its Saw esq seizure editing in a couple parts.
