keepassdroid fingerprint problem

I'm using a Samsung A5(2016) with android 7.0 and a Samsung S5mini with Android 6.0.1 with the same problem.

Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. Looks like you're using new Reddit on an old browser. GitHub is home to over 50 million developers working together to host and review code, manage projects, and build software together.

I also encountered this problem when adding a second fingerprint. Hi.

Activating this feature implies that the master password is saved (encrypted) in the Android Keystore. In the normal settings, it says "We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with Windows Hello Fingerprint". to unlock my phone, I decided to set the phone unlock method back to "Swipe". Then I came here on GitHub and I read the last comment to #240. Then I erased it, input it in a "shown" state and voila, it worked!

After each time the KeePass starting, I see "Invalid key problem" message, and the fingerprint is not working too.

@InviteCiel Thank you.

Android P however has some changes for those who would like to know and they would also be good to implement here which should further improve user interaction in the future.

Huawei MT7-L09 device. Password then will be encrypted & saved in KeePassDroid. I side loaded 8.1 on a my Pixel 2 XL this morning, then later in the day set up a fingerprint for a fourth finger.

At some point the compatibility has improved. Not 100% sure, but I think LastPass uses accessibility options to fill in fields on your behalf.

For reference, the steps to reproduce this problem are: Set up KeePassDroid with your fingerprint. A quick search shows nothing for Samsung fingerprint in use here. For instance, KeePassDroid hosts a password database which is strongly encrypted in the .kdbx file format.

You should ask on the forum of whichever Android-KeePass port that you use to learn about features of the particular KeePass port.

How did you set it up. Hope it helps. I have this same issue on a Pixel 2 XL running Android 8.1.

hide.

I don't even use keys. What I'd like is for some sort of timeout on the fingerprint feature. I could try to avoid that by switching off the phone.
These will fill in the selected text field with either field from the currently selected entry in your keychain. This keyboard has two buttons: A username button and a password button. The main reason there are KeePassDroid topics here is because of people like you who keep making the same mistake. Same for me, I'm using v2.2.0.9 on a Nexus 6P with Android 8.1.0. Looks like the database is stored locally on the phone and can't seem to find a cloud option in settings. Tha same issue with the fingerprint. If you enter them correctly, or (new) you scan your fingerprint, the database becomes accessible. Hello I am using Version 2.2.0.9; This doesn't fit with @Xavron's theory at all. #2 OverByter, Dec 12, 2012. tapatalk11 Lurker. The newest update of Keepass2Android includes support for unlocking the database file with your fingerprint. I want it fixed or improved for you as I don't need it fixed since it works with no problem on my device. It would also be better to not have the fingerprint code get so far on non-fingerprint devices - save some code execution there if possible and remove a line from this patch.

Regards, Hello my problem is resolved..I forgotten to touch the fingerprint icon after changing fingerprint !!

If you have it work with one app and not with this one then I think the other apps are not using or not just using Google's fingerprint API which I see is used here. I'm pretty happy. I just received my Oneplus6T and while trying to migrate my data and especially the KeePassDroid application and DB, I noticed a small problem with the KeepassDroid 2.3.4 application and the integrated Screen fingerprint Scanner. With a Xiaomi Mi6, fingerprint button and home button, may be the same one... By default is the same one. Also, is there a way to disable the feature, once it's turned on?

After I set it up, I was then able to login to the data using my fingerprint scanner on the phone. When you enable fingerprint authentication, it asks you for the password once, then you can unlock it via fingerprint. start KeePassDroid, enter your password and tap the fp scanner

If the password is shown with dots, it will not accept the fingerprint - no vibration at all.

Fingerprint supported but not configured for device, https://stackoverflow.com/questions/38266406/android-fingerprint-api-ishardwaredetected-returns-false-for-samsung-note-4/38267130#38267130, https://stackoverflow.com/questions/37935959/android-m-fingerprintmanager-ishardwaredetected-returns-false-on-a-samsung-gal?utm_medium=organic&utm_source=google_rich_qa&utm_campaign=google_rich_qa, https://stackoverflow.com/questions/42575967/fingerprintmanagercompat-ishardwaredetected-return-false-in-targetapi-25?utm_medium=organic&utm_source=google_rich_qa&utm_campaign=google_rich_qa, https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45499713/which-samsung-devices-do-not-support-androids-native-fingerprint-api, start KeePassDroid, enter your password and tap the fp scanner.

KeePass is a windows program.

In this mode, instead of immediately locking the database after the set timeout, KeePass will present a prompt asking for the first few characters of your password.
On the next unlock you would be able to simply touch the sensor instead of typing on the password.

Theory? Is 2016 old enough, I don't know and don't have a 2016 model available to test and perhaps a newer update voided the issue anyway. This means new fingerprint will be now at position 1 and original "Fingerprint 1" on position 2 in a list, Now it is not possible to unlock database using "Fingerprint 1" but it works just fine with "!Fingerprint 1", fingerprint is configured (a PIN for the display lock is also obligatory), the password is shown in cleartext (i.e. Moto G5+ Then the password is needed to unlock the phone. Android version 7.0 Of course, it could yet be something else.

What can I do to resolve this problem ? I have downloaded Keepassdroid to my phone. If I just turned on show password (when it was already typed in), fingerprint didn't grab it.

Additional reference. Read/write support for .kdbx and KeePass 2.x. I exit the app and reopen it and touch the the fingerprint sensor and nothing happens.

When I open it normally, it asks me for the password (because even itself does not know it). All Rights Reserved.

Please note that first character is exclamation mark. So, if you dont type and delete something in the password box, it will not be listening and when you touch the fingerprint reader, it will send you to the home screen. I see no pop up when intended to unlock..

After copying my DB file to my phone and trying to open it via the app i can not enter my known password. Tested as working.

This new update is pretty cool..but no MM for me yet :(. I can replicate the issue and workaround @geoffhamer described on Android 8.0.0 (up to date with sec patch 5.11.2017). Rotation various tests I try to get people to adopt it but they don't care.

I also just tried to uncheck it and try to use the fingerprint. You cannot open at all with fingerprint sensor.

Sorry about that. The site may not work properly if you don't, If you do not update your browser, we suggest you visit, Press J to jump to the feed. I'm seeing the save behavior as @pierpippo. When I added a new fingerprint I was not able to access the database anymore. This problem has been around for about a month a half now, hoping that a software update would fix it. keepass_resume_fp2.zip, Tests performed: ... Fingerprint stopped working. Maybe additional research could show where it changes.

@pierpippo and @jghaanstra Maybe you're affected by issue #240.

Do touch the sensor at the back of your phone with your finger instead of clicking on the fingerprint icon on the screen.

Same issue on Huawei P10. Thank you for your comment.I am glad it helped you.

ALL OK, Upcoming tests: Usage after long display off (sleep mode), Fixes: But if the app receives "not OK" back from the call to fingerprint, it should at the very least help the user to know how to use the fingerprint which in this specific case would be, "your device told me no :-(" or something to that effect lol, I'm happy that your pretty happy but I hope you get very happy :-D. Attached a small patch to fix fingerprint not working on resume of app (if anyone cares). I have some security concerns about it. I realized that I had to type in the password and then touch the icon.

By clicking “Sign up for GitHub”, you agree to our terms of service and Yeah I also enabled the fingerprint for quick unlock but set the character length to more than 8 characters. Works great on my Nexus 6P with Android version 6.0.1. I have a problem with windows hello on my laptop. If KeePassDroid shows a message, that there is a problem with the fingerprint sensor: Post Comments I replaced the fingerprint, and deleted the old one.

Thanks!

For me it worked. i insert password and touch fingerprint sensor but nothing happened. I was then able to setup/configure the fingerprint login in keepass. KINDLE USERS: For those complaining about KindleFire or having problems other device, please keep in mind that KeePassDroid should be used in conjunction with another app - like Dropbox. Others have already pointed out various problems so I pointed out some more and its context is in addition to other posts. App says listening for fingerprint and does not acknowledge use of sensor. To use fingerprint unlock you should enter password on *.kdb unlock screen, but instead pressing "Ok" you should touch the fingerprint sensor. I was able to resolve this issue by reinstalling the app. Activating this feature implies that the master password is saved (encrypted) in the Android Keystore. I also had added another fingerprint to my phone, after which this issue cropped up.

In this mode, instead of immediately locking the database after the set timeout, KeePass will present a prompt asking for the first few characters of your password.

Oracle Enterprise Manager / Cloud Control: Histori... Go to the Android App Sessings => Apps => KeePassDroid => Data. The only change I'm seeing is a new toast message saying invalid key problem.

Actually, it sounds more like #223 to me. As soon as I enter the first character for the database password I get a toast message, "Invalid Key problem". Nothing happened.

If KeePassDroid shows a message, that there is a problem with the fingerprint sensor: Go to the Android App Sessings => Apps => KeePassDroid => Data => empty the cache If this doesn't help.
