And the suplies were not so regular as they should be (no milk at breakfast for 2 days...), We arranged our stay through email with Mereone, the manager that we met in Honiara. Well designed, with a natural air system, you really don't need air con. The Pros: - nice location, beautiful grounds, spacious villas - warm, gracious staff (longer serving staff members clearly well-trained, but newer staff unfortunately not well trained in hospitality under current manager) - great snorkelling along a nice house reef to the left of the royal bungalow jetty - lovely coral & fish galore - great snorkelling off the beach island (a coral cay) - a short boat ride away with the engaging Brian, the activities man - tasty food - but a little on the heavy side The Cons: - Villas (especially the bathrooms) and main dining & bar areas starting to really show their age - Poor management skills leading to many basic supplies running out or being unavailable - eg. Our bag however is full of not only a wonderful and very unique collection of hand made village treasures, but also its full of the most amazing.
